RULES & GUIDELINES
ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES
- Students are to arrive on time for each class.
- Make sure your student goes to the bathroom BEFORE class begins.
- All absences must be excused in advance by a parent by calling the studio.
- Calls from students will not be accepted.
(If a student is tardy or absent, a parent will be contacted to make sure the student is where they are supposed to be)
Please look ahead at calendars and schedules of other activities in which your student participates to reconcile potential conflicts before they occur.
Many conflicts can be resolved if advance notice is given to everyone involved.
A valuable lesson of dance, especially for older students,
is learning to manage time and schedules.
Classes at our studio are a commitment!

GENERAL STUDIO RULES
- Do not wear your dance shoes outside of the studio.
(Wearing your dance shoes outside tears them up and brings dirt and rocks onto our dance floors)
- Students must have hair properly done and dance shoes on their feet before they enter the room for their class.
- Make sure the student’s name is clearly marked in all shoes and belongings.
DRESS CODE
GENERAL
- All students will wear a coverup when coming into or leaving the building. This is for everyone’s safety.
- All students will wear hair in a ponytail or bun. Bangs are allowed but may not interfere with vision or be played with.
- All student's hair must be a natural color for all performances.
- No permanent or temporary tattoos or body piercings.
- Glasses are permitted during class but not for performances.
- Nail polish is allowed, but must be removed two weeks prior to performances.
- Jewelry is not allowed, except one pair of small stud earrings.
- Small stud earrings are NOT allowed when trying on costumes and at performances.
- Any skirts must be sewn onto leotard.
BALLET
Any colored leotard may be worn with ballet pink footed tights
(or transition tights pulled over the feet for 4th grade and up) and pink ballet slippers.
Pointe students will be instructed as to proper shoes and accessories.
Pointe students will wear their hair in a secure bun.
Boys will wear a solid colored t shirt, black jazz pants, black ballet shoes, and socks.
PARTNERING
Any colored leotard may be worn with ballet pink footed tights and pointe shoes.
Hair must be in a bun. Absolutely no jewelry. Fingernails must be short.
TAP
Any colored leotard may be worn with ballet pink footed tights
(or transition tights pulled over the feet for 4th grade and up) and proper tap shoes.
Ages 3 through fourth grade will wear black patent flat tap shoes with elastic–no ties, buckles, or velcro.
Fifth and sixth grades will wear black high heel tap shoes.
Seventh grade and up may wear either black high heel or black lace up flat oxford tap shoes for class.
All students fifth grade and up will need black high heel tap shoes for the spring recital.
Boys will wear a solid colored t-shirt, black jazz pants, black lace up oxford tap shoes, and socks.
IRISH TAP
Any colored leotard may be worn with ballet pink footed tights.
Fourth grade Irish students will wear their black patent tap shoes from their regular tap class.
Fifth grade and up Irish students will wear black lace up oxford tap shoes.
Boys will wear a solid colored t-shirt, black jazz pants, black lace up oxford tap shoes, and socks.
All students will also need black ballet shoes.
JAZZ / HIP-HOP
Any colored leotard may be worn with black jazz pants, pink tights, and black lace up or slip on jazz shoes.
Boys will wear a solid colored t-shirt, black jazz pants, black lace up or slip on jazz shoes, and socks.
