Students may begin ballet training at 4 years old. Pointe is introduced in 5th grade for students who are prepared. Partnering opportunities are offered for older students.
Tap classes are offered for students 3 years of age through adult. Musicality and rhythm are the focus of these classes. Broadway and rhythm are among the styles explored in these classes.
Current tap students in 4th through 12th grades with at least two years of tap experience may audition for the Irish tap teams. The teams are featured each year at the Irish Festival where Irish tap and ballet dances are performed.
Jazz classes are available to students in 4th-12th grades. Broadway and lyrical jazz styles are studied in these classes.
Hip hop classes are offered to 4th-12th grade jazz students. An emphasis is placed on age appropriate music and movement. (The 7th-12th Grade Class is a team selected by audition.
Students in 3 year old tap must be 3 before they can attend a class. We can pre-enroll a student who turns 3 all the way into very early January. This will save the student’s spot, and they can begin after their birthday. Tuition will not be collected until the student turns 3. Birth certificate is required, and the student must be completely potty trained.
Irish tap enrollment is at the discretion of Mika Newey. Irish tap students must be currently enrolled in tap. Team members are expected to maintain consistent attendance to their other classes. This class is a year long commitment. Costumes are rented from the studio.
Hip hop students must be currently enrolled in jazz.
7th-12th Grade Hip Hop enrollment is at the discretion of the instructor. Team members are expected to maintain consistent attendance to their other classes.
